What can i do if someone i care about has difficulty hearing?

If someone you know suffers from hearing loss, you already know it’s a challenging time for everyone close to that person including family, friends, colleagues, and coworkers. Sometimes, the change can be so gradual or subtle that you’re not sure whether it’s actually a hearing loss. Unlike many conditions, hearing loss is often hard to detect in its early stages.

Helping Your Loved One

If you believe your loved one is suffering from undiagnosed hearing loss, encourage him or her to contact us and request a no-obligation hearing evaluation* to determine if, in fact, a hearing loss is present.

In most cases, the hearing test* will determine the type of loss, and if hearing aids would be of benefit. During the consultation, we will listen to their hearing concerns to get a better understanding of which environments they would appreciate improved hearing. We also take the time to answer any questions.

Family celebration outside in the backyard. Big garden party. Birthday party.

We encourage a loved one to be present during the appointment because hearing loss not only affects them but those they come into contact with regularly. Also, we go over quite a bit of information, so it is always nice to have another set of ears listening.

HEARING solutions

We have a Hearing Loss Simulator that allows the loved one to experience the hearing loss that the hearing impaired is living with on a daily basis. We like to think of it as an “eye-opening” experience. Oftentimes people think hearing loss means you just need to raise your voice, when in fact, clarity is also a key aspect to hearing better.

Once we have thoroughly discussed all of your questions and concerns, given the type of hearing loss, we can actually demonstrate the recommended hearing solution at the time of the appointment. A risk-free trial can be arranged because we want to have them experience hearing clearly in all of the environments that are most important to them.
